Structural Behavior of Concrete Beams Reinforced with Biaxial Geogrid

In recent decades, corrosion in steel reinforcement has been one of the fundamental risks steel-reinforced concrete (RC) structures. Geosynthetics can be an alternative approach to solve problems. The current experimental research work investigates structural performance geogrid-reinforced (GRC) elements. Initially, five different geotextiles and biaxial geogrid materials were selected embedded specimens separately study their mechanical properties. results testing showed that specimen behaved more mechanically than conventional (CC) due increased bonding characteristics. limiting moment load-carrying capacities RC GRC beams determined with reference limit state design principles. order compare beams, two size 150 mm × 300 2100 cast. performances terms capacity, energy absorption, stiffness degradation, ductility examined. tests indicated even though capacity was slightly lower, they demonstrated enhanced by 42%, 40%, 68% higher properties, respectively, those on average. augmented inelastic better properties aid noticeable performance.
